Friendship Around the World

Friendship Vocabulary Review

Students will gather information about friendships in other countries.

Students will review vocabulary from the entire unit.

Friendship Quilt

Acrostic Poetry

Students will interview a friend and create a quilt square about them.

Students will use Read/Write/Think to create an acrostic poem about a friend or about the theme of Friendship. 

Character Traits

Friendship Problem Web

Students will identify character traits and give text support for a character of their choosing in the Friendship Unit.

Students will generate a list of potential problems that friends might have and then create ways to solve the problem.

African Praise Poetry

After a brief Microsoft PowerPoint presentation about African Praise Poetry, students will interview a classmate and then create a praise poem about their classmate. 

Students will brainstorm what friendship means to them.
